Do you want to know when someone login to your laptop without knowing you?
Windows has powerful inbuilt application ‘Windows Task Scheduler’ by using it we can create multiple tasks. It’s very simple to create a task with the scheduler. It involves three steps
- Name and Description of task
- When it will trigger
- What will be the action
Name and description are just for your information. The next step is when do you want to trigger the task. The action is what you want to do when some event triggers.

Step 1- Open Windows task scheduler in windows laptop(if you will not found it then search it in Windows 10) click on the create a basic task.
Step 2- Once you clicked, you will get a task creation screen like below. You need to provide the name and the information about what this task for. Once you provide all the information click next.
Step 3- Trigger is for when you want to execute this task. You will get few option for it. Here you want the email notification when someone logs into your laptop so you should select the fifth option ‘When the computer starts’. click next
Step 4- Next step is action means what you want to do when this task triggers. Here, in this case, you want an email notification so select the send an email option and click next. You will get an email compose screen.
Step 5- Here you have to fill all the information about email. You can choose any one of your email address. Here I am using the outlook(both email address is mine). Make sure that you are putting the right SMTP server(here I am using the Outlook SMTP server). You can also attach the file but it’s not necessary as you just want a notification. Once you fill all the information click on the next.
Step 6- The final step is to finish the process. Here you will see the final output of this task. Click Finish and it’s over. Next time when someone logs into your laptop you will get an email notification.
Note- Windows Task Scheduler is not working for Windows 8, 10. It’s working for Windows 7. If you are facing any problem then let me know.
